The annual Kansas City Royals Caravan rolled into Beatrice in time for lunch. Most of the300-plus autograph seekers arrived to see former Husker All-American and current Kansas City Royals third baseman Alex Gordon.

KUTT/KGMT radio was happy to host Alex and his teammates which included outfielder Mark Teahen, Royals Hall of Famer John Mayberry, Royals Broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre and the Royals Mascot Slugger. “You see these kids out here, and they’re so excited to get your autograph,” Gordon said. “It just reminds you of when you were young and doing the same thing. I enjoy every second of it. I’m glad to be here.” Food Donations were also taken for the Beatrice Food Bank and free Runza food was given out during the Caravan. KUTT and KGMT looks foward to getting a special visit from the Royals again next year.
