Clifford L. “Junior” Wolf, Jr., 63,
Beatrice, died on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical
Center in Omaha. He was born December
20, 1947 in Beatrice. Cliff graduated
from Beatrice High School in 1966, received his associate’s degree in
post-secondary education from Fairbury Junior College and attended Pershing
College in Beatrice. He married Dianna
Harms on March 29, 1969 at the First Christian Church, Beatrice. Cliff sold insurance for Prudential Life for
several years, was in charge of the food stamp program for Gage County, and was
a volunteer Probation Officer before becoming the first Probation Officer in
Beatrice where he was a Probation Officer for the State of Nebraska for 37 years
and last held the position of Acting Chief Probation Officer. He was in the Nebraska National Guard in
Beatrice from 1970 to 1984.
Cliff was a member of the Bitting-Norman Post 27 of the American Legion, Planning and Zoning Board, First Christian Church, volunteer fireman and a past president of the Men's Bowling Association all of Beatrice. He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed training hunting dogs, hunting, fishing, and collecting tee shirts and hats.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna of Beatrice; daughter, Michele Gillispie of LaMars, IA; brothers, Jack Wolf and wife Joan of Princeton, IL, Bob Wolf of Beatrice, and Tom Wolf and wife Lori of Blue Springs; sister, Debra Snyder and husband Marvin Sr. of Fairbury; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Linda Silverstrand of Lincoln, Joyce Morrow and husband DeWayne of Beatrice, Debbie Meagher and husband Mike of Beatrice, David Harms and wife Vickie of Beatrice; mother-in-law, Norma Harms of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Clifford L. and Delores (Oviatt) Wolf Sr.; sister, Janice Carpenter; father-in-law, George R. Harms; sister-in-law, Bonnie Biaggi; niece, Angie Wolf and nephew, Thomas Patrick Wolf.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Christ Community Church, Beatrice with Pastor Jack Magness officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. Closed casket visitation will be held at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the family greeting friends on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial is established to the American Heart Association or Beatrice High School Football Stadium with the mortuary in charge.
