October 19, 1947 - May 19, 2011

Janice Kay Rainey, 63 Blue Springs died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at her home. She was born October 19, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK.  She grew up in California and lived there until 1991 then moved to Oklahoma and then to Nebraska in 1994. Janice enjoyed crocheting , gardening, flowers, shopping, going to yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren and dogs.  She married Donald Rainey on March 13, 1965 in Richmond, CA.  Janice worked as a janitor at the Madesto, CA Public School, then at the horse track in Sallisaw, AR but mostly she was a mom and homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Ronnie Rainey and fiancée Shelly Wells of Blue Springs, Cindy Rainey of Blue Springs, Jana Fletcher and husband Robert of  Blue Springs, and Kenny Rainey and wife Krystal of Wymore; step-son, Donald Rainey of Dover, AR; 18 grandchildren; 4  great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Mayhew of Blue Springs and David Mayhew of Dover, AR; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband, Donald Rainey; parents, Clarence and Marie (Johnson) Mayhew; many sisters and brothers.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday at the Church of Christ in Wymore with Pastor Clayton Lundstedt officiating.  Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held 10:15 Monday at the church. Visitation will be held on Sunday (5/22/2011) at Harman-Wright Mortuary from Noon  to 9:00 p.m.   A Memorial is established to the family choice with the mortuary in charge.  Harman-Wright Mortuary, Beatrice, in charge of arrangements.
