Richard A. Keuten, 61 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. passed away
unexpectedly at the Beatrice Community Hospital Sunday afternoon, May
22, 2011. He was born on July 26, 1949 in Fairbury, NE. to Richard F.
and Darlene (Wittler) Keuten. Richard was a graduate of Diller High
School in Diller, NE. and served his country in the United States Army
Reserves. He and Judy (Imes) Kisch were married on September 22, 1989
in Beatrice and they have lived in Beatrice since 1992. Richard had
been employed at Petersen Manufacturing, Dempster Manufacturing, Exmark
Manufacturing, Kawasaki, and most recently had been a welder at
Husqvarna in Beatrice until it closed. He enjoyed reading the bible,
watching Jimmy Swaggart, fishing, playing with his pets, and was a gun
collector.
Survivors include his wife Judy Kisch-Keuten; 2 sons Kurt Keuten of Beatrice and Greg Parde of Omaha; 3 daughters Amanda Parde of Omaha, Melanie Christie of Beatrice, and Dee Glinsmann and husband Ron of Lincoln; mother Darlene Keuten of Diller, NE.; grandchildren Samantha Keuten of Beatrice, Jeff Salts of Lincoln, James Rivers, Ashley Rowden, Melissa Ottersberg, all of Beatrice, Dustin Wischmann, Lena Wischmann, and Faith Glinsmann, all of Lincoln; 2 brothers Lawrence Keuten and wife Lonni, and Randy Keuten and wife Sara, all of Diller; 2 sisters Sharon Arthur and husband Rod of Diller, and Donna Kenning and husband Dennis of Steele City, NE.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Richard F. Keuten.
A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in charge.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery.
The body will lie in state Tuesday from 10-9:00 and until the service on Wednesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Jon Palmquist officiating.
