Cancer Benefit for Damon SwarthoutDate: Saturday, December 17, 2011 Time: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
At the young age of 13, Damon Swarthout has been diagnosed with stage IV Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that affects less than 1 in 100 million people in the U.S. At the time of diagnosis, the cancer had metastasized to his skull, spine, bone marrow, ribs, lung, and arm. Due to the fast growing nature of this cancer, Damon is on a very compressed chemo schedule. Therapy consists of five different types of chemo given in a more condensed period than traditional chemotherapies. Due to the aggressive treatment schedule, Damon's parents are unable to work full time and have incurred mounting medical bills as well as increased daily expenses due to treatment, supplies, and weekly travel to the Med Center.
Please come help raise money for Damon and his family. Damon is the son of Teresa Kagy and Mark Swarthout. Damon has a younger brother Eean that is 9 years old.
There will be a soup supper at Risky's Sports Bar and Grill on December 17th from 5-7. There will be a silent auction that night as well as Mother Tung playing that night at 9pm.
You can also send donations to Damon Swarthout Fund c/o Pinnacle Bank, 523 Court Street, Beatrice NE 68310.
